They Are Us art exhibition official opening

They Are Us is an ekphrastic exhibtion in which 20 Central Highlands writers at various stages of career tackled the titular theme in short fiction and poetry. The SHAC artists responded to those works in a variety of media, including painting, photography, weaving and woodwork. The exhibition will be officially launched by City of Ballarat Deputy Mayor Cr Belinda Coates.

A highlight will be Ballarat musician Reuben Morgan performing a composition he's written specifically for the exhibition.

The launch is at 6.30pm, Thursday 27 February, at the Lounge Gallery, Billy's Bar, Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Conference Centre, 613 Main Rd, Ballarat. Drinks and nibbles are supplied, and all are welcome.

The exhibition runs from 24 February to 5 April.
