Free Event. Amanda Western will open her Central Ballarat studio as a drop-in experience combining live demonstration, hands-on making and direct access to finished works. Visitors can move through the space at their own pace, encountering the process of large-scale linocut printmaking from drawing through to carving and printing.

Visit Catherine in her studio situated in her garden in Linton where she creates beautiful clothing, accessories and soft sculpture using pre-loved table linen, tea towels and second hand materials. You will enter a functioning studio with work in progress and finished items, you can do some stitching or purchase pieces.

Free Event. Visitors are invited to attend an open studio day at the working studio of Ballarat based sculptor and stone carver Tas Wansbrough. Tas’ studio will be open for the public to experience how contemporary stone carving is practiced in a real working environment. Guests will be able to walk through the outdoor carving yard where large stone blocks and sculptures in progress are actively being worked on. Visitors will see traditional hand carving tools alongside modern equipment used to shape and finish stone.

The Jacquard Loom Network is hosting an In Conversation event with key members of the Network, offering an insightful and thought-provoking discussion exploring the place of Jacquard weaving in contemporary and future textile practice, industries, and life. Where is Jacquard weaving headed in an age of digital fabrication, sustainable design, and renewed interest in handmade?

Ticketed Workshop. Do you have a sewing machine that you aren’t sure how to use? This 2-hour workshop will teach you to fill a bobbin, thread your machine, understand the stitches and settings, good techniques and habits to set you up for success. Tickets to participate are $59 per person.
