EXHIBITION: Bound, the exhibition- Mining Exchange

  • Ballarat Mining Exchange 8-14 Lydiard Street North Ballarat Central, VIC, 3350 Australia (map)

Five ‘rooms’. Five experiences. The central exhibition of the Ballarat Craft and Design Week showcases meaningful partnerships between makers, designers, manufacturers, and producers, exploring ideas of textile, memory, and restorative practices.

Bound is the exhibition outcome of the City of Ballarat’s craft and visual arts development program. In 2026 the focus is on collaboration. This year, a select group of creative makers, artists and producers came together as partners to create something new, something compelling and something of this place.

This free exhibition allows you to wander through five different experiences, understanding the process and outcomes of some of Ballarat’s best artisans, artists, makers and producers.

The collaborators are:

- Spencer Harrison + Nick Doran Adams

- Minna Graham + Bernadette Aitken

- Jessica Larm, Kerith Holmes + Jordy Bos

- Tiffany Titshall + Jayne Newgreen

- Dearne Mills + Jude Ng

Artistic Director - Justin Weyers

Professional Development - Angela D’Alton

Open both weekends. Free entry. Accessible. Supervised children welcome.

No exhibition is complete without a spectacular retail opportunity. Exit Retail is a celebration of the finest works of makers of the Ballarat region, and everything is available to purchase.

Curated and managed by community powerhouse, the Ballarat Clay Collective (BCC), this is your opportunity to take a piece of Ballarat’s craft and design home with you.

Headliner makers profiled in Exit Retail include folk artist Petra Rogers, fine arts practitioner Tiffany Titshall, textile artist Dr Lauren Matthews and ceramicists and co-founders of BCC, Maddison Tresize and Steph Wallace.
