Waterway Soundwalk

a musical journey

waterway soundwalk

Five Ballarat-based artists have walked the waterways of Wendouree to create original audio works forming a self-guided walking experience that you can follow too. The Waterway Soundwalk reimagines how people connect with urban nature – with a focus on water.

You are invited to slow down, listen deeply and engage with hidden ecological systems across a familiar and accessible urban route. Through sound, storytelling and place-based composition, the Waterway Soundwalk reveals the unseen biodiversity and natural processes shaping the city.

walking the waterways

We invite you to listen to these five new works from five of Ballarat’s best and brightest composers, Ade Vincent feat. Jane Hendry, Freya Josephine Hollick, Cardigan Weather, Coda Chroma and Richard Chew, all working with Executive Producer Damien Charles.

You’ll be able to experience a gentle walking journey over a 60-90 minute period. Take in the sights of five different locations, and listen to five responding musical pieces.
